I had a very nice time visiting with my visiting teacher today. A visiting teacher is another woman who is assigned to come visit you and to discuss the gospel with you. My visiting teacher has all kinds of information about two of the schools we are considering for the kids as well and it's good to hear all the positive things about sending your kids to public school. The kids did a couple things they were supposed to do while she was here, but mostly goofed around.
This is not in the order that we did things because I had a hard time getting started today.
Religion - We reviewed some of the things that we learned about over the past week and practiced our scripture memorization. No one wanted to try for a chocolate chip today.
Math - Everyone was caught up on math today so we just had to do Xtramath. Racer is so close to passing off division. He got over a hundred smiley faces today.
Science - All we had today was a quiz on balance although Racer still needs to finish his scientist biography. I keep forgetting about it, as a consequence he keeps forgetting about it. I need to put it back on Homeschool Tracker.
Latin - The kids filled out their Latin test page together, or probably Racer did most of it. They had forgotten their verbs and verb conjugations so we need to review that a little bit more.
History - Earlier I had Racer read the book Footsteps on the Moon to everyone. I don't think they finished it, but we did finish up talking about Colorado. We also reviewed the dates on our American History timeline.
Grammar - Racer's grammar focused on four rules for comma usage and reviewed all the proofreading marks we have made so far. Chicklette found action verbs in a story we read a few weeks ago and we talked about when to use was and were. Racer almost has "I Will Go Down to Innisfree" memorized. Chicklette also finished her Writing with Ease assignment.
Ballet - I sent Chicklette out the door today in tears to go to ballet. We lost track of time so she was late getting out and then she was sure I was pulling her hair out when I quickly put it in a few ponytails. I don't know why it hurts her so much to have the back of her hair pulled up into a ponytail. I promise, I'm not doing it hard or tight.
I'm glad tonight it pizza night and DH was kind enough to pick up some ready made pizza crusts because I am not feeling anything like an involved dinner. I'm so tired and headachey and I. . . well, I was going to say I don't know why. But I do know that I haven't made the best food and screentime choices today which is probably the reason for the headache. Tomorrow is Saturday!
