When I was nearing the end of my pregnancy with the twins and deciding how I would get in all the school days I needed, I figured we would just keep going through the summer. However, with the help of my mother-in-law, we got in a lot of our school days when I thought we would be on vacation. We have finished our math, history, religion, and some of our language arts. There is no way we will be able to finish our science, but we could finish our grammar if we focused. So, here is my new plan. Instead of doing a full school day, we will recite our scripture memorization, do xtramath.org, and do grammar and spelling. Then we will be done. By the end of July, we will probably take off and just do summer activities.
I also am spending lots and lots of time this summer putting together a history curriculum for the next year. I am using Road Trip USA from Confessions of a Homeschooler and books that I am selecting myself for American History. At the end of the year we should have time for Utah History.
I also need to input lesson plans into my Homeschool Tracker and tweak a couple lesson plans that I downloaded so I like them more.
And then, I want to make a schedule so that I can get in all the subjects that I need to and make sure I am giving my other children then time that they need as well as my husband and myself. I'll upload that when I think I've got it. I had one for this year. It sort of worked, at least it was a starting point for us to get most of our stuff done. I've learned from it and I'll use some of it again and change a couple things. We're definitely changing the order that we do subjects in to coincide better with a few naptimes.
