Busy, busy, busy. I can't wait for our Christmas break either.
I'm thinking we need to rearrange our schedule over Christmas break so that we can do all of our independent work while the Bubbers are awake. It's just a little too crazy in the morning trying to keep track of them and teach at the same time. So keep an eye out for a new schedule.
Religion - Yesterday's advent was about Jesus heals us. We talked about the people Jesus healed and the man with palsy who was healed when his friends let him down through a roof. I sure hope they repaired the roof before they left. We also talked about the power of the priesthood and the blessing that it is. We talked about when we can use priesthood blessings.
Math - Chicklette is still buzzing through the new multiplication pages. I hope she's understanding it; she's getting all the answers correct. Racer is working on Khan Academy after he does his Xtramath since he finished his word problem worksheets on Tuesday.
Physics - We were supposed to do our egg drop again today but because it was snowing all day, I opted to do it Friday. We'll see if Chicklette's egg survives again and if Racer's egg has a chance this time.
History - We read two books for history - Sarah Emma Edmonds was a Great Pretender and Lincoln Tells a Joke. Then I had the kids fill out a graphic organizer about the character of Sarah Emma Edmonds, a Civil War spy. She seemed like such an interesting person that I put a few more books on hold about her, a couple are for me and a couple for the kids. For Road Trip USA, we read about Iowa and made some cinnamon popcorn on the stove. I think I burned it a little, but it still tasted good.
Literature - Our Writing with Ease went smoothly. Chicklette had narration and copywork from The Railway Children. She does not like doing the copywork, but we persevered and overcame. Racer had a long sentence with several commas in it from Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Latin - Racer finished his Latin assignment today. Chicklette wanted to hang on to it until Friday. (Not really, but she didn't get to it so she will be doing it today.

This was the weather today. Snowing, all day and freezing rain last night. It finally quit around 6 PM and we took the kids sledding. Everyone liked it except Sunshine. He had just woken up after falling asleep in the car and his sled turned around so he was going down backwards. He was terrified. We'll have to try again on a smaller hill and in the daylight.
