Racer went to work with DH today and got to interview an electrical engineer. Then he hung out with Dad and worked on some of his independent work until we picked him up to go to co-op. He had a blast and wants to work full-time with Dad right now. He, on his own, wore a blue dress shirt because "Daddy wears a button-down shirt every day to work."
At co-op the kids learned about Louisiana and South and North Carolina. They listened to jazz and a New Orleans street band. Chicklette got Krispy Kreme donuts and Turtle sampled Ambrosia Salad. Their classes worked on their Element scrapbooks and they talked about mixing hydrogen peroxide with catalase. To see the reaction, they poured hydrogen peroxide on a potato and watched it bubble.
When we got home, we had lunch and recess and then got back to work with Xtramath and our math workbooks. Chicklette is working very hard on figuring out her mental math. Racer is learning about how to measure angles and took the initiative to grade his own work. I need to check over his Latin test and see what else he got done at work.

We played with friction by timing how long a block of wood took to slide down a board. We timed it by itself, wrapped in a washcloth, and wrapped in sandpaper. We will repeat this experiment next week as well just changing the angle of the board.
