Peach season is upon us. I can't wait for the day that my peach tree in the backyard provides us with bushels of peaches, but until then, I will just have to wait for Sprout's Market to sell their peaches for .49/pound. That day is here so I'm going later today to stock up. I'm thinking three boxes this year. I got two last year and they lasted us until just a couple weeks ago. With more kids this year I think three boxes will be better. I'm definitely planning on our regular canned peaches, but I heard about vanilla bean peaches earlier this year and I would like to try that. So here's my lineup of recipes to try - canned peaches, canned vanilla peaches, dried peaches, peach jam, peach butter and possibly some lavender peach butter because I just happen to have lavender growing in my yard and I know there haven't been any pesticides or herbicides near it. How do I know this you may ask? Why, because I have weeds that are a couple feet tall that I've been too lazy to pull. I keep thinking the weeds will keel over from lack of water because nothing else will grow in some of those out-of-the-way spots. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. Well, wish me luck getting all my ideas to actually get done.
